(Poem) “The Slave Mind”
My Inspiration for writing this poem Titled: The Slave Mind is black people have not learned to see the tricks of those that persecute.
Author: Urban Poems
Black people screaming, me too, I hate you! My brother with the same hue. My sister with the
same bruise.. I want my pain to fit your shoes, and to get my game I’ll bury you! Like the other colors
do, because my enemy looks like me singing the same blues. I stand down to them other dudes.. you see
I follow my hidden enemy’s rules.. my target is you! My people was taught different from other
fools, that’s why I hate you, because we’re from the same crew.. that’s how I survive under my
oppressor’s roof. Damn this gig is rigged. I want to be one of the few to break the chains loose.
No more will I annihilate my own group. I won’t be the cause of the tape that got us mourning
on the church pew.. Today, I make a change.. to say I love you.
