    Unapologetically Black

    Constantly reminding myself what it means to be darker than what society has deemed beautiful

    From Bodegas in NYC
    the melting pot of the universe

    To narrow minded southern cities tucked away in “American “tradition

    My kind ain’t right
    Hair loc’d , lips asymmetrical
    Black is what my momma made me
    Proud to be who I am

    500 years can’t define
    My race, creed nor religion

    I stand a fixed in a place destined to gentrify my community

    Oppress my ken folk
    Leave my brother in the prison industrial complex

    Make it hard for him to learn the realities of the world outside a jungle context

    Dying to be free from the oppressor
    All I know to fathom is how to be the lesser

    Of 2 evils
    My patience running thin

    Knowing WHAT we represent

    Oshun
    Osiris

    Warriors , leaders, inventors
    Melanin worth more than gold

    I stand a fixed forever

    Viewer thoughts: While reading this poem Titled: (Unapologetically Black) I felt the strength in the writers words drawing me in to the power of their pen; making me understand the fight and beauty of being African American in a place where the acceptance of, was never real.

    My Inspiration for writing this poem Titled: War hope & reunited is the war on the black race has been relentless.

    Dehumanize a man and take the land of the traumatized.. you fantasize of causing our babies
    suicide, the devil in disguise.. you colonized our pain to petrify our people’s brains,
    you want us all insane.. you want to tame the black man’s name. Your designs cause the black womb
    shame.. you assign your gang bangers to destroy and undermine where we unite and reside..
    because you never had joy you took the people for a toy. No thank you, to your planned
    genocide.. I’d rather have peace on the inside.. your biggest trick was getting our people to
    undermine their own kind.. in the hopes of moving up to a
    high-rise..
    With no love around we say to one another, dog eat dog so it’s all justified, no lie you got
    our arms tied.. No knowledge of the Most High, so there’s no settled mind.. trying to be god, the
    minds of the people, through division, you customize. You itemize another’s hands and place your face
    to be idolized.. hushing the cries of the hypnotized. You got what you wanted, any means
    necessary, but the love of god you denied.. but you want the joy from his people’s eyes..
    so you kept taking until you neutralized.. but now once again, we arise, holding hands where you cut
    the line, revitalized to help our own kind..

    I’m back and I’m better with an new endeavor.. I’m flexing on my haters now that I’m a little more clever.. I’m popping my collar, I put the whole hate club in the shredder.. they turned the heat up so I’m taking off my sweater.. Depending on the Most High to make it through all weather… I’m an introvert so fake friends are equal to fake leather.. I wanted to know who is real so I had to pluck your feather.. I don’t need friends who come around just to gather… filling their bags with what they rather.. it matters to me so All of my haters can bounce together.. to really tell you how I feel all my haters can bounce forever..

  • Silence

    My inspiration for writing “Silence” is that I just got tired of talking. I started to feel like I was talking to brick walls. Everyone is living in a dog eat dog mindset, so they assume you are too. -Author Urban Poems-

    At this moment there’s nothing to really talk about.. I just need a moment of silence to really sort it out… my voice is feeling tired with no strength to shout..

    call it crazy but I will never talk just to chase clout..

    I just want to be quiet when it’s so loud… with everybody claiming to know the proper route.. I learned to open my eyes and control my mouth… 

    I could say a lot but this is not a pout.. but I will say..

    Fuck a soul tribe that’s a real drought.. take it how you want.. this is my house.. so don’t tell me how you feel.. tell your spouse..

    Now that I know that it’s all fake.. that it’s all an act.. I’m on the battlefield fighting to bring the real one’s back.. let’s talk about trust issues.. if I didn’t have any before, I got them now.. and that’s a fact.. Which is a good thing in this dessert filled with snake attacks.. I’m so disappointed to see leaders are nothing but copy cats.. with no original thoughts on their racks.. I definitely don’t want to talk to a bunch rats.. I gotta ask?.. where the real one’s at?.. social media has created a world where everyone is wearing hats.. no one is doing the inner work when you can just copy where you lack.. I’m getting rid of all fake ones and creating a real stack.. so if you don’t like what I’m saying.. it’s time for you to pack… I don’t feel no remorse for admitting that you’re wack… I gotta ask once again.. where the real one’s at?

  • Is This Life?

    (Poem) “Is This Life?”

    My inspiration for writing (Is This Life) is the hamster wheel that society has created. By no means am I saying to quit your jobs but I am saying use them as a stepping stone to buy some land or get back to what’s natural.

    Working a 9-5 are vital survival hours.. after dealing with a toxic supervisor stressing you out abusing you with their powers.. now it’s 6 o clock you finally making it home looking forward to a shower.. so 7 rolls around.. your kids looking hungry thinking where’s ours.. you’ve been on your feet since before the sun came up.. but it’s all on you, there’s nobody there to give you flowers… I know you’re tired and it’s easier said than done.. this life we live devours.. we were made to live off the earth… made to give birth… made to work.. in our own farms but the money is our curse… take me back to the old days when we knew how to use herbs.. When building our own homes and drinking from wells fulfilled our thirst.. comfort is the demon that’s putting bodies in a hearse.. fast food and no time to work out is why our bodies hurt.. most of us wouldn’t survive a day in the wild.. so what are we really worth? All of our skills were swapped for comfort.. we traded life for a purse.. I’m not saying quit your jobs.. but find your way back to living.. nothing grows without planting a seed first..

  • Un-tied

    (Poem) “Un-tied”

    My inspiration for writing (Un-tied) is me knowing that there will always be adversity in life; but it won’t stop me from moving forward. -Author Urban Poems-

    Damn I done been a lot places.. All alone but surrounded, I done filled a lot of spaces.. It don’t matter who you meet it’s like it’s all the same cases.. just different faces with different emotional fazes.. But the eyes never change they reveal the true bases.. I’ll never forget the eyes of the one’s I called my aces.. When anger rose, I found out most were really just my foes..  I sit back and think of all the different gazes.. Fake love had me stumbling at different stages… The more I try it’s like they shoot me from different ranges.. All the times I held it in I’m releasing all my rages.. No more playing nice I’m releasing all my gauges.. Shot out to all my haters, the more you try, Abba Yah gone give me all my raises.. First I’m give him all his praises.. I will always rise you could never stop my wages.. Since it seems I’m the problem then release me from these cages.. I’m done with all your killer hazes. Your jealousy, Untied me from your knotted laces.. Just leave me alone.. .. Go be happy.. And let me decipher my own mazes.. You’ll never see me again.. I hope that solves your problem.. Now who you gone blame for that black heart that got you loosing all your race’s.

    My inspiration for writing (Cheer Up) is I want you to laugh today or at least smile. -Author Urban Poems-

    I want you to laugh today, go ahead put smile on your face.. I want you to know that everything is going to be okay… You with the glowing eyes wipe them tears away.. it’s been to long, the world needs a little peek of your grace.. your genuine vibes are comforting like a warm embrace.. I gotta say, your goodbyes are always sure to leave the loving scent of your trace.. your inner beauty is like the perfect molding of clay.. Your imperfections complete the mold like the heat from a beautiful sun ray.. so go outside and dance a little and bring along your playful sashay.. and before you reach the end this day, close your eyes and remember to thank God when you pray.

    (Poem) “God Didn’t Stutter”

    The inspiration for writing (God Didn’t Stutter) is most times the people that say someone else is in a cult don’t even follow or understand the bible they claim is their manual for their own religious beliefs. This is not to say there are no cults; but the term is often used to bully those who don’t want to follow the crowd. Anything that corrupts the Most High’s ways are the real cults. Always use your discernment.

    I heard that a small group of organized people with the same beliefs were a cult… religious beliefs or practices regarded by others as strange or Sinister is googles top search results… If you ask me a large religious group is bullying the little people with organized insults.. So I guess the broad path is what the world instructs..It doesn’t matter how many people self-destruct.. that was made clear in the normal consult… I and a small group of people still believe that the Messiah came to make mankind’s laws erupt, without changing not one pin drop of what the Most High constructs.. so does that make us a cult? For following our father’s rules that mankind attempted to corrupt.. my father says in his word that the path is narrow so following the crowd should make you to hit a screeching halt… So what is a cult? My new definition of a cult is the broad path that made many lives end abrupt.. sounds sinister to me.. sounds like Satan’s worshippers to me.. So how do you believe in God if his word you chose to deduct? You can’t have it both ways it’s time you bow down on your knees and stop counting on your luck..

    My Inspiration for writing (Me and You) is we are all on our own journey in our relationship with the Most High. -Author Urban Poems-

    It’s just me and you in this world full of people… You’re my father, my provider, my comforter, the one who saves me from the sheeple.. you are the one that’s always regal.. during persecution, I block out the reaper, and think of you, you are my keeper… Making me strong when I am weaker… I realized that it’s all about you and your believer’s.. nothing else matters in this world full of seekers… Their just players on the board to make our love for you grow deeper.. I cry tears of joy while looking past all deceivers.. standing with you alone I am not a people pleaser… No more being triggered I am not a demon easer..     My inspiration for writing “In due time” is it seems the more you try to be a decent person, the more people give you problems. I wanted to give some validation to people going through this by letting you know that I get it. You are not alone. You deserve to hear that sometimes.     Let’s be honest, you were nominated… Guilty for being honest is the reason why you’re hated.. incriminated for daring to go against the zombie matrix.. They chose the life of being faded.. hearts drunk and infiltrated.. your presence makes their life a little complicated.. their forced to think about their actions and can no longer be exonerated.. so they team up to make your logic seem underrated.. but always asking questions just to make you feel shaded.. they want you irritated… Attempting to make your soul dark jaded.. saying join us the darkness is highly rated.. join or prepare be agitated.. with their demons fully concentrated.. it’s like their demons infatuated with keeping you suffocated.. all to stop you from navigating.. so you choose to be quiet, now they mad you won’t escalate it.. doubting your strength, they really thought you’d be dominated.. but it’s time you feel validated.. moving on your heart is truly unpenetrated.. maybe scarred, but God is why you’re vindicated.. through it all you’re amazing, you’re smart, you’re caring, your laugh is needed and appreciated.. this moment is for you it’s time you feel elated.

    The inspiration for this poem (Never Cross Yah) is reminiscing on each time that I went against God to please a person there were consequences. Each time that very same person would turn on me. It is almost like the Most High says if you value their opinion over mine, then I will leave you to it but without my protection. By going against God you are hurting your own relationships with others. God knows what is best; it may hurt their feelings for you to say no today and save the relationship for the long-run. Then again, sometimes certain people don’t need to be in your life. -Author Urban Poems-

    Man I don’t even know where to start.. but fuck it you let us get to this broken part.. all I can feel is a broken heart…torn in this broken place I call the dark ..this time you did it… As strong as I try to be I can’t take this dart.. to the all the one’s that planned this you won.. I never said I was smart.. so what made you wanna break me down to this broken art.. you tricked me into sinning for you, making my father Yah depart… as hard I tried to stand it seems that evil broke me once again..you won again.. at least in the sight of man..     I was inspired to write this poem (Ah Hehe Hell) because black television downplays the fight of activists. It seems to try to portray them as if they have mental issues for wanting to be treated fairly. Black television all together pushes a negative brain washing narrative. I can’t even watch a show without seeing something that irks me anymore. -Author Urban Poems-

    Why are black sitcoms making fun of black activists.. shows like black-ish.. have me heated as they play out our active risk.. using black actors to turn our pain into a diss.. bad acting depicting abolitionist.. making jokes like painting the snow black.. and have us thinking, that’s a group of extremists.. so called actors displaying violence with a kiss.. how much did they pay you to keep our brains in bliss.. to keep your own on a list.. the message is to kill black concerns by using their own fist.. mannn.. you gotta be dumb if you still don’t get the gist.. Being a sale out is Anthony Andersons biggest wish.. but he’s no worse than Martin or the rest who keeps their heads in the mist.. claiming it’s all comedy while serving a laugh within a hiss.. destroying us slowly is Hollywood’s biggest hit.. Y’all helped them with their mission to demolish and dismiss… Man I’m just shaking my head.. how did we go from strong to doing anything for a bone.. black entertainment is just a terrible remix.

    We Have Many Emotions

    All emotions have purpose. As humans we have many emotions, most of them are actually necessary for different situations. I will talk about why I say most emotions are necessary. Although I usually avoid jealousy; in the bible God has placed the feeling in certain individuals to fulfill prophecy. All emotions have purpose. Although jealousy is one emotion that usually leads to destruction for the person letting it control them.

    Emotions Make Us Human

    Inner Joy is an emotion that stops us from being jealous of others or at least being able to check yourself if you feel jealous. Fear invokes our fight or flight response which can save your life in a life or death situation. The emotion of the week seems to be happiness. Happiness is necessary so we can enjoy time with the people we love. Without happiness you wouldn’t be able to enjoy all of your favorite activities. When slaves escaped the plantation; I am sure that happiness didn’t make them do it.

    Emotions Invokes Change

    They were probably feeling anger, despair, distress, even sadness for the family they left behind. Anger and distress probably pushed them to make the necessary decision to leave. Which makes me think for Harriet Tubman to return to save others; she must have grieved for them. Grief likely played a part in her saving others. As a matter of fact most of our revolutionary history for the whole world came from feelings of anger and grief. Every change came from someone applying their anger and grief in a way to make a change.

    One Emotion Used To Silence Another

    It is important to acknowledge all of our emotions. I feel like sometimes fake happiness is used to silence people who have a revolutionary spirit. For example there were people who wanted the world to just shut up and be happy after George Floyd was murdered. Personally, I was pissed. I lived in a smaller city at the time where there were no protests going on. That didn’t stop me; my anger and grief had me downtown by myself protesting. I met other people who also wanted to protest and by the end of the week the whole city was protesting.  Likely they were already planning a protest; I just didn’t know about it so I did my own.

    Conclusion

    Admittedly due to some people coming out for the wrong reason; it made me regret protesting. Some people with no soul only came out to twerk and rob stores. They didn’t give a damn about what happened to George Floyd. In my opinion they were and still are part of the problem. I know now that we are supposed to cry out to the Most High for change. Only then will things play out in a fashion where we can get justice. People that are successful in making a change were playing out the Most High’s plan to free us from slavery. All of our emotions have a time and place. All emotions have a purpose. Don’t be afraid of them; learn how to use them in healthy ways. I will place a list of emotions below.

    Poem titled Stay True To Yourself

    What Brings You Joy

    This morning I watched the breakfast club; and the topic was “what brings you joy?”. Admittedly I like this show since it started airing on B.E.T. The host gave their perception of what makes them happy and so did the guest who called in. Charlamagne stated “that your happiness is what makes others envious.” While I can see where he is coming from and agree; I do have a slightly different opinion. I believe that it is your courage to stay true to yourself that makes some people envious.

    Staying True To Your Weird-ness

    With that being said if you stay true to yourself it will also bring you happiness. Staying true to yourself does not mean giving yourself permission to destroy yourself. It does not mean that you should get drunk everyday because that’s what you like to do. That’s just self destruction. When I say this I mean stay true to that person in you buried beneath all of the barriers you have placed as a way to make it through. Stay true to the goofy outfits you like to wear that never match. This one’s for me. I truly love to wear tacky clothes for some reason.

    In complete transparency when I wear a tacky colorful outfit that is comfortable; I feel like I am on top of the world. I have these one pair of pants that I think are just awesome; but I have been called farmer Jane while wearing these pants. I mean like someone started singing a whole song singing “Farmerrrrr Janeeee….” Admittedly, I truly honestly don’t know how to dress that stylish. That’s okay because everything is not for everybody. Your outfit does not determine who you are. With that being said if you are into style; do your thing and don’t let nobody make you feel guilty about it. Stay true to you.

    You Can’t Have True Joy Without The Most High

    One way to know if you are doing it for you is to ask yourself “Would this be my decision if no one is watching?” Also take note that everything I say is with the use of discretion. Don’t go outside butt naked because you want to stay true to yourself. Staying true to myself consists of placing my relationship with the Most High first. That alone created all of my other values. Which a few are standing by my morals, integrity, and values. I will give up anything if it comes between these things. I thank the Most High for the day that he placed my pride and ego in a shredder. It was the day that changed my entire destiny.

    It was the day that gave me joy. Through every decision I can be happy knowing that I am staying true to myself. True happiness to me can not come from an outside source that is worldly. Only the Most High can give true joy. With that being said it is not natural to be happy 24/7. I don’t want to tell you to aim for happiness. You should aim to understand yourself and your emotions. Learn about yourself and improve the things about you that compromise your true inner being. Fight anything within you that tries to steal core values.

    Your Morals Will Be Tested

    When you make this decision you will be tested and that’s when you have to stand ten toes down. When you come out of the other side of the test it will solidify your values. After that, the majority of the time staying true to you is easy. Although every once in a while you have to pull out your boxing gloves to let it be known that you are still with the core values. Getting to know yourself, being honest with yourself, and most of all keeping the Most high first will always lead you to joy. The Most High is a teacher that will teach you all things that you need for this thing called life.

    As I sit outside gazing at the green grass, as I look at the beautiful flowers.. I feel the warmth upon my head as the sun towers.. Sitting slightly in the shade to avoid the heat’s full powers.. While Dandelions stand tall from the morning rain showers.. Now that it’s dry, I lye bare feet in the grass absorbing the nutrient deets.. As the birds chirp with their tender beats.. This is soo nicee.. so I close my eyes and lightly drift to sleep.. As the earth caresses me with her gentle sheets.. Prompted awakened from the buzzing bees..  whilst the wind blows in such a gentle breeze.. not sparing while sharing her energy with the trees.. the leaves are beautiful as they blow with ease. not worrying about my phone as I let the voices cease.      This poem (Pest Control) was inspired by someone murdering another person in order to control that person’s future. It is the emotional stability of a toddler or less. Therefore I believe that if that wasn’t the case why didn’t they just kill themselves or move on.  -Author Urban Poems-

    In a matter of two days I see nothing but black tragedy. I watched a man kill his baby and a wife destroy her family. This can’t be love, to kill man for leaving is nothing but insanity.. A woman with no humanity.. To the man who killed his baby.. His own seed.. His own kin.. Mann..She was yo twin.. How could you let that demon in?.. How could you let that demon win? Y’all are worthless..  Nothing but weak people not even worth my stress.. but it doesn’t make it hurt less.. nothing but bad examples to what was already a mess.. How could we make a change if you clowns won’t act your best?.. If you can’t change then just go to sleep and take your rest.. Better you than the rest.. I have no sympathy for pest.. We could never mesh..

    This poem (Love Shed) inspiration is the destruction of the black mind. Which is occurring from manipulation, brain washing, abuse, and convincing us to be comfortable all by design. Oppression comes in many forms. -Author Urban Poems-

    How did you steal love from a whole race? What made you want a man to hate his woman’s face? What made you think to take that woman’s grace? Telling the whole world she’s in last place. Turning our men into pretty trends, through rose colored Lense, we think it’s comedy for our men to be in a wig just to make it big. Doing anything to blend in a society that wants to see the black man come to an end. Bbls are taking L’s to be this lost our people must be under many spells. While we’re busy chasing our tails, we’ve been deceived in a system set up to make us fail. All by design..We hate each other, so our unity is frail.     My Inspiration for writing this poem (Boundaries) is we have slowly lost our ability to say no to things that don’t feel right. We allow this system to villainize our helpers and leaders by dividing us from good counsel all to poison our subconscious mind.

    Being too nice has ruined everything.
    Let’s take a look back at the whole scene.
    Everyone is gay since the delusion of the LGBTQ queens. Why did inclusion have to mean exclusion of the way God made queens…
    Black people are in a daze since the fall of leaders like  Martin Luther King.. His methods of love and knowing how to fight caused change to intervene..
    Martin knew that his enemies were not white, but the system causing friction in between… Now that I know better, I stand beside Martin in,  I had a dream.
    At one point I blamed the man for trying until I learned that he led a great revolution giving me the power  to be considered a human being…
    He knew all along that the tending of segregation was a part of a bigger scheme. To control the black mind by stealing our self-esteem.  Trying to lead his people is why he took one for the team.
    He kindly demanded equal rights showing us how to fight a wicked system and stay lean.
    This was never  about the everyday man, black or white.

    As long as they say it nice,
    they could pretend that it wasn’t meant to be mean.

    I don’t know about you, but I’m tapping out of the fake smiles ring.
    Everyone was more loving when keeping it real was a thing.

    Yah you are my love bug, the most powerful one that
    gives laughs and hugs, drying my tears and blessing
    me with many years, answering my prayers and being the
    one to give me cheers. I thank you for giving me healthy
    fears with your wisdom I now know when to look for deers.
    You showed me how to be still and chill and when to be
    a warrior ready if I have to kill. You made me independent
    and showed me how to till and grow my own fruit and veggies
    for a meal. And you always kept it real and told
    me what’s the drill. If I desire to live I will follow your
    perfect ways and never cave. You are the the only one who
    cared to save me from my old days and wrapped me in your arms
    told me I could stay. When I’m feeling drained you rub my
    back and tell me it’s okay. You put me in the game and made
    my enemies forget their play. You taught me when to pray.

    Negroes! The one’s the world calls zeros… The ancient one’s that were here even when Christ rose. We’re the one’s who America imposed. With different methods like mental bondage through videos.. During the times of Moses we were tortured with physical woes.. To keep us off our toes.. Trust me the world knows.. It’s time we take a stand and finally open our nose..     The inspiration for this poem (Forced Meditation) is the push through television, social media, and society that constantly shows the black community in a certain light to make us believe it. -Author Urban Poems-

    It’s time you take a stand, you’ve been hindered from being a man, your destination has been planned since birth.. You never seen a man like you have worth.. Your daddy’s gone you never seen him home… Momma’s feet are aching, but she never thought of flaking. She said she said leave my baby alone. Her guilt made her place you up on Trone. With mom rubbing your feet it made you wanna sleep but the only problem was there was no food to eat. Men use to be strong until master did them wrong.. Before they had a choice they left their families by force. So you see, a black man having a family, that’s just a fantasy. According to the tv thats just a white man’s thing and the next commercial shows your kind just chilling with a fling, with all the drama to bring. I mean it’s a trauma thing. The only hope u got is a Nba ring, I mean at least that’s what you heard. You could never be a nerd. Because the media says you should try rapping a couple words. So now you change your name to baby, o no Lil baby, I mean da baby, or should I say a baby. Don’t you get it you’ve been trained to be a baby depending on your lady, maybe not financially but you abandoned family so  you left them frantically. I heard slavery was dead but you a slave in your head. Scientists studied your dreads and all the books that you read. That’s how they got up in your head. So you already dead when you let them in your bed. You’ve already been bought.  Your ancestors paid the price back when they were fought. Now they control your thoughts. Cover your ears watch everything you hear. Control your mentality to change your reality. Don’t believe them when they tell you it’s just a song because where we’re from that’s how you end up hung.

    They say, you don’t have a choice… Voting is your voice.
    They say, the president, is your only source. So we’re forced, to
    Bow down to man, make sure you follow your oppressors plan.

    Playing chess with the devil, while they play you out your hand. Mannn… I say, I been
    voting for 10 years, but never checked to see if God still hears. Mann.. As I
    I cry, I know that God Heals tears. I can’t help but wonder how it made God feel.

    While we cast him aside, because they said pick a side. So we voted anyway..
    saying the change is coming soon they’ll change right away! but it’s
    been many days. Their plan is still the same played out in different ways.

    Yeah, maybe a few of you don’t have physical chains… but that don’t change the
    fact that they still got your brains. Bow down on your knees, ask God,
    if he still sees.

    Ask your father for forgiveness for forgetting his plan and trusting in man.

    Tell him that you’re sorry, because you went off course. Yeah, I know it felt like
    force, but you were still coerced. Ask him for your voice, and this time make the right choice!

    They say, break their unity to break black communities.
